SocialManagement

Privacy policy.

Last updated: 9 October 2026

SocialManagement is made by A Brand New Company (ABN). In short: we collect nothing. No account, no tracking, and nothing goes from your phone to us or to anyone else.

What we don't do

  • You don't create an account. We don't know your name, email address or phone number.
  • The app sends nothing to us or to anyone else. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party crash reporting.
  • We never store or send which apps you pick. On iPhone, iOS keeps that choice itself; the app only gets a sealed reference. Only the lock screen sees the name of the app you open, on your phone, to show that name.
  • The Android version has no internet access. Nothing can leave your phone.

What stays on your phone

  • Your moments, your settings and your counts (how often you chose Never mind and how many breathers you took, for the last 14 days).
  • On Android: which apps you picked and, while a lock is active, which app is being opened at that moment. The app uses this only to show the lock. It is not stored and never leaves your phone.
  • If you set up The Key: a one-way fingerprint (hash) of the barcode you scan. The code can't be recovered from it. No photo. The camera is only used while scanning.
  • On iPhone, your phone's own backup (iCloud or your computer) can contain these settings. Only you can reach that backup. On Android they are not included in any backup.

This data lives only in the app's storage on your phone. We can't reach it.

Permissions the app asks for

iPhone: Screen Time

To lock apps, SocialManagement uses Apple's Screen Time features. Apple asks you once for permission, with Face ID or your passcode. You pick the apps in Apple's own list. The app only gets sealed references to them, not names, and can't see how long you use your apps. You can take back this permission at any time in Settings > Screen Time > Apps with Screen Time access.

Android: Usage access and Display over other apps

On Android the app asks for two permissions. Usage access lets the app see which app opens, so the lock can appear when it's one you picked. Display over other apps is needed to draw the lock screen over that app. The app never reads your screen, your messages or what you type. A notification shows while a moment or lock is active, so you always know the lock is on. You can take the permissions back in Settings > Apps > SocialMgmt.

Camera

Only for The Key, and only while you scan. No photo is taken or kept.

Notifications

The heads-up is a notification your phone schedules itself. Nothing goes through a server.

Purchase

You buy the app through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes that payment under their own privacy policy. We receive no personal data about you. Apple and Google only show us sales numbers that can't be traced back to you, and crash reports from people who chose to share them with Apple or Google.

Deleting

Delete the app and everything is gone. There is nothing on our side to delete.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, children included.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no scripts or fonts from anyone else.

To get the page to you, our hosting provider Vercel Inc. and the Cloudflare Inc. network process technically necessary data, such as your IP address, the page address and the time, in server logs. We do this on the basis of legitimate interest: without that data a website doesn't work and can't be protected against abuse. We only look at the logs when something goes wrong, and can see them for one day at most. We don't keep or export them. Vercel and Cloudflare keep them a short while longer for security, under their own privacy policies.

Vercel and Cloudflare are US companies, so data can go to the United States. Both take part in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which allows that transfer under the GDPR.

If you email us, we use your address and message only to answer you, also on the basis of legitimate interest. We keep the email while your question is open and at most one year after, and delete it sooner if you ask.

Who is responsible

A Brand New Company (ABN), Volume 88, 1446 WJ Purmerend, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 88565548. Reachable at info@abn.company.

Because the app collects nothing, we have nothing about your use of the app to show, correct or erase. If you emailed us, you can always ask to see that email or have it deleted. If you have another question about your privacy, write to us. You always have the right to complain to your data protection authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

If anything in this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. If the app ever starts collecting anything, we will say so first, in the app and in the store.
